This Blog is dedicated to Lucy's sister Vida. When she and a select few others see the pictures they will understand exactly why I dedicated this to her. More about today will follow tomorrow but I wanted to tell you about dinner tonight.
I have a very good friend in the Federal Government, now retired, by the name of Erech Morrison. Erech and I have travelled extensively through Europe and way back when we also travelled together through Japan. Erech is a wonderful person to travel with since he has a great sense of humour, is willing to be adventuresome, speaks a number of languages and is just a great companion when traveling. For years Erech has told me that when in Paris I should go to dinner at a restaurant by the name of Chez Gabrielle. It is Lucy and mine 32'nd wedding anniversary today so I booked us in and we all went out for a nice dinner. And it was great. You can see from the food pictures that we ordered a wide variety and if I had taken pictures of the plates at the end you would also see that there wasn't a morsel left behind.
Erech mentioned that the Canadian Embassy regularly sends guests to this place and they never disappoint. He was right. Because of the Canadian connection I brought her a Canadian flag to put in the restaurant so if anyone visits Paris you can go to here and look over the bar and you will see Canada well represented.
This restaurant has been in this place since 1906 and I believe these are the third owners ... maybe fourth. A lovely couple who really know how to take care you. Thanks.
You can't possibly enjoy the entre's, plat's et dessert's as much as us but I post the pictures so that you can at least have a sense of our delightful dinner tonight.
Once again it is very late and once again I'm posting after 1:00 am.
Till tomorrow.
Oh the address is 7, rue de l'Etoille. It is right off rue Wagran near the Arc de Triomphe. Get off at Charles de Gaulle Etoille and walk four very short blocks down rue Wagran and turn left and it is just a few metres down the street. Highly recommended. Phone is 01 43 80 23 01
Good night and sorry about the repeat picture of Bun I can't figure out how to delete a repeat picture once it has been posted.
Happy anniversary, Dennis and Lucy! We are enjoying reading your daily blogs and beautiful pictures and getting the urge to do more traveling ourselves. Linda has only one question. How did Lucy get the time off?
ReplyDeleteHappy trails to you until we meet again.
