You enter the town through a cut in the rock made by Etruscans some 2,500 years ago and head under a 12'th century Romanesque arch and you immediately feel the history attached to this place. It is a photographers dream ... no tourists to get in the way of your pictures ... the views ahhhhh the views ..... each lane or footpath holds a surprise and the stone walls almost tempt you to take yet another picture. This is a place to visit if you like the sweetness of doing absolutely nothing.
We had dinner in a cave where they owner and his wife cooked our food in an open fireplace. The menu is quite simple .... what they are serving today. Don't like it ... then go somewhere else. The meal was incredibly simple ... bruschetta ... a small sausage ... some beans .... some bread and a tort for dessert but its simplicity was also its charm. The name of the restaurant is on one of the pictures.
If you follow travel logs this was done by Rick Steve's ... he highly recommends it and so do we.
I'll still a few days behind in these but will try to catch up. I have and hour left in my battery.
Till the next blog.
