When we left the American Cemetery we stopped for a quick photo shoot at a site where there were five large cannons built by the Germans as part of the Atlantic Wall to defend the coastline. Two of the cannons are still in tact which is quite unique in that most were destroyed during the battle. Look how fortified these were to protect them from Allied fire power.
This was a very quick visit so I have very few pictures ... indeed only Simon and I got out of the car to explore.
