Day 12 - Train to Switzerland

Well we made it. We caught the early morning train to Bern Switzerland and then to Interlaken where we've rented a car to drive through the mountains.  Rather than go directly to the hotel we started with a drive around Lake Brinzersee which isn't that long a drive ... maybe 40 minutes but a great start to the visit since you get a first hand view of all the vistas. We will have better pictures tomorrow after a day in the mountains.
This part of Europe is very different from the hectic pace in Paris, indeed it is downright civil.  Some days I forget that this is suppose to be a vacation rather than a marathon to see every possible tourist site in Paris.  There is nothing wrong with spending a very lazy day doing nothing but gazing over a calm lake, reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine.
Tomorrow we are going to try to go to the top of the Jungfrau mountain which is the highest spot anywhere in the world a tourist can travel. This will be weather dependent. They actually have a channel on the TV dedicated to the weather on the top of the mountains to give tourists like us information as to if it make sense to go up or not. No sense if it is clouded in since you would see nothing ... here's hoping ... we've had good luck weather wise the entire trip so we are optimistic. We can always wait a day and go on Thursday if Wednesday is bad.
Enjoy.
