Day One

Well we arrived. Everything went well with a few glitches ... the Limo was 45 minutes late, the plane was an hour late as Air Canada needed to find someone to fly the damn thing. Minor problem. The plane came in for its landing and at the last second pulled up and took off. With the exception of a few breqkfasts we all survived. Uneventful ride to the apartment. It is small but will more than do us, even when Janice arrives ..... the is a pull out bed for her in the living room. Busy street during the day but it is dead quite at linght so we should sleep without much noise.... always a problem in Paris. So Lucy had some simple lunch waiting for us and after a short rest we hopped on the subway and got off at Place de Concorde ... a good spot to start .... the obelisk ... Madeleine .... Champs Elyssee .... Fouchand to pick up some morsels for dinner and to deposit the first half of the second mortgage on the house that we took out to come here .... just kidding but everything is somewhat expensive but we knew that before we left! The price are about identical to Canada but in Euros so about &.- more with conversion. Tom is standing behind me and says he thought that 3.50 Euros for 10 beers was pretty good and a bottle of wine for three more euros; Bon's eyes are still the size of silver dollars and we havn't even started really ..... Tom is fascinated about how old every thing is and he is amazed he is still functioning ... but then those ten beers are now in his belly .... it's going to be a great trip!!!! I had to come down to an internet cafe to do this since we can't seem to figure out the internet at the apartment and the key board has about ten keys in different spots so there may besome spelling errors, sorry. Seineing (signing) off till tomorrow... Tom and I are heading off to see the Seine at night.

  3. Dad: I guess you can't get your email while in Europe. Take mom to the internet cafe next time. I'm sending an email for you to her account. I sent off a few emails this morning in the midst of a panic attack. I'm almost sure I sorted things out though so no immediate need for you to panic.

  6. I did send the email to mom's yahoo account. It's the only email she has so it's the only possible place I could have sent it. Get mom to log in for you. Can you read it and respond please. It would make me feel infinitely better if I knew that you were aware of the situation. Thanks.
