Paris Walk - June 26'th

We decided to take the subway today since I wiped these boys out yesterday. We actually set out to buy a  few fans since it is suppose to boil tomorrow and we want some air movement in the apartment. With a dozen people showing up through July I also wanted to make sure there are fans in the apartment just in case it is hot on any particular day. No air conditioning in Paris you know.

I also want to show these guys the sites so we took the subway up to Montmartre to walk around the village behind Sacre Coeur. This place is NOT where you want to go on a Sunday. Most stores are closed ( thus we failed getting fans ) so these tourist sites are overrun with people but I wanted to show the boys so we went up anyway. Not a very nice visit but it is off the list of things to see.

Not knowing the BHV was closed we took the subway down to Madeleine and walked across to the BHV which is a nice walk if you stay off the rue de Rivoli and use the rue St. Honore instead  .... no success shopping so we walked home.

One of the nice things about Paris is that you never know what you are going to run across. A tour of old Citroen's was one and a neat environmental exhibit was another.

A few pictures are below.

Not a very exciting day but at least the buskers were entertaining.

We ended up at about 22,000 steps although I go most mornings for about a 12,000 step walk at the Jardin du Luxembourg so my step count was a lot higher than the boys.

Life is good ... enjoy

  1. Pretty nice autos! Was it a Citroen Rally? What's with the tee-pees?
